Re: Worlds End Landscaping & Roleplay
Indulge your inner Pixie with this cosy new fantasy cottage from Worlds End!
Just 4 PE and includes two extra 1 PE giant mushrooms.
This is one of my first buildings almost entirely designed externally. Due to this, and the buildings unique shape, it is NOT modular like my other builds, but you can change the textures pretty easily should you wish to customise.

Re: Worlds End Landscaping & Roleplay - Christmas Gifts!
Today I released the my first "rez and go" sim surrounds. Available in 1x1, 2x2 and 3x3 versions.
Create a beautiful panorama quickly and with no fuss! Really brings a sim to life!
Pictures dont do the pieces justice as its hard to capture the scale, so please drop by inworld and see them for yourself here: https://www.kitely.com/virtual-world/Oz ... d-Showroom
Baked textures and 100% mesh as always.

Wow. This is really beautiful, but the idea is kind of exploding my brain. So If I just have a little 1x1, how would I modify the sim surround? Isn't a sim surround by definition something that is off the edges of my 1x1. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Make an off-sim scene: Demo. You only need basic building

Re: Worlds End Landscaping & Roleplay - Christmas Gifts!
Hey Serene, its not a dumb question at all.
You can drag things around by going to "build" and using "edit linked". That will suffice for most things.
If you want to get more in-depth and start copy-pasting things, it becomes a bit more tricky.
1. Go to build
2. Tick "Edit linked"
3. Highlight the pieces you want to copy and unlink
4. Deselect the rest of the oject
5. Right click - take copy
6. reselect the rest of the surround and click "link" if you want to keep the pieces you copied.
Then from your inventory, rez the parts you have taken, highlight them, then touch the rezbox of the sim surround and click "link".
Now you can drag things around (even off-sim) and place them as you please.
In theory, you could buy the 1x1 and chop it up into chunks and create a surround for a 2x2, 3x3 etc. But you will see if you attempt this, its a lot of work.

Amazing. I guess you learn something new every day out here in the virtual frontier. I had no idea this was possible.

Re: Worlds End Landscaping & Roleplay - Christmas Gifts!
Glad to have imparted something new
You can put pretty much anything you want off sim. The important thing is that whatever is off sim is NOT the root prim.
The root prim must be "on sim" somewhere. It acts as a sort of anchor. Without it anything off sim gets returned to your inventory.

Re: Worlds End Landscaping & Roleplay - Christmas Gifts!
Thanks for that link, Selby. Your step-by-step explanation is very helpful. Now I have a better understanding of how this is done!
Is the sim surround content saved as part of an OAR backup? I'm guessing it is because the root prim is within the region. Right?
