Now renting a few spots in City Life
As a small experiment, I have put a few islands, properties and storefronts up for rent in my region City Life world. Payment is in KC. If there are no takers, the regions will eventually be filled up with my own stuff, whichever comes first!

Re: Now renting a few spots in City Life
Steven I have found I get a bigger response when I get my requests out to social media - and I use alot of great pictures.
Here are few great places that I have used to get the word out.
First I make a blog using blogger http://www.blogger.com/home. Connect blogger to your google+ account. I describe my island and post pictures. I also post my offer for rentals and my contact information in the blog. When you describe the rental offer, explain the cost of KCs by quoting the Kitely website:
"Kitely Credits (KC) are a virtual currency. You use KC to buy virtual goods and services.
You buy Kitely Credits using PayPal. You can buy from $5 to $500 worth of KC at once, and there's a discount for buying larger amounts. "
And include the KC conversion chart:

Perhaps you will charge 75KCs a week for your rentals. That information should be included also.
Join a few OpenSim g+ groups and send your blog out to those groups also.
Join the GooglePlus Group "OpenSim Virtual"

It's run by our very own Minethere and is a great resource on the net for Opensim Worlds
If you need a place to host your images for free just go to http://www.imgur.com.
Post the blog listing to your Facebook account - don't forget to add the web address of your world to all posts everywhere.

Then I take it to scoop it http://www.scoop.it/and turn my blog entry into a magazine article that others can 'pick up' and send out to their social network.
Send your scoop.it article to Facebook and Twitter.
Try to take some pictures of your island and update your blog stories every week. Then send the weekly blog posts out to your network also.

I also think you need to give folks ideas of what they can do with the rented property.
Your commercial rental in City Life World can be a virtual meeting place for your business associates, you can display virtual goods and accept paypal payments for your products. The space is voice-enabled and can stream music and video, including YouTube videos. The space is great for long distance meetings and can accommodate powerpoint presentations also.
Good Luck!

Re: Now renting a few spots in City Life
Thanks for all the great ideas! Most of the things you mentioned were in my plans already but it was nice to see them so well organized and described. Less thinking needed on my part! I have made many websites and wordpress blogs over the years, for myself and others, none of which have been associated with virtual worlds. However, that is about to change as I get ready to launch a new blog in the near future that will feature content and links about my life outside the real world.
