I've seen train sets...somewhere. You might need to do some hypergridding to find what you're looking for. Maybe try Adachi? I can't recall where I last saw them.
And bear in mind there are three primary physics models here, with UBODE being the latest. Vehicles built for, say, Bulletsim won't work properly.

Go to Ruritania on the Littlefield grid and have a word with the sim owner, Xi Shi. I think she's the foremost opensim train expert.
