Hi Sierra,

Bamboo is a type of wood and the Building Material options include "Wood", so I recommend you use that value.

We intentionally keep attribute values generic in order to allow easier browsing of similar content. Please see past Kitely Mentors Group meeting notes for additional details about this design philosophy: http://www.kitely.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=12

Bamboo is actually a grass, not a wood.

That may be so but I think most people would still (mistakingly) call a chair made out of bamboo "wooden", so that is probably where they would look for it.

I was going to ask the same question about wicker, which is a woven reed or grass usually. I have it organized in my folders under textiles, because it's woven and starts out as flexible. But if bamboo goes into the wood attribute, then wicker furniture might too.

You're gonna get these questions a lot - techies see things very differently than visual artists. But it's a good thing, long term as we thrash it out, I think - we'll learn from each other. But it's hard for me to see how you'll have time for answering all the questions, when you get the numbers of content creators in that you want.
