Re: Kitelys market
Hi Scurvy,
Kitely Market fee structure is listed here: https://kitely.atlassian.net/wiki/space ... arket+Fees. We charge 20% of PayPal sales and just 10% of sales in Kitely Credits.
Our share covers the PayPal fees which can be up to 5.5% in some case (leaving us with 14.5%). We then need to pay Amazon for servers, bandwidth and storage used by Kitely Market. Some orders are resent multiple times due to issues with third-party grids, thus further increasing how much it costs us to operate Kitely Market. Finally, we handle customer support for buyers from both Kitely and hundreds of other grids we deliver to.
All those costs add up, leaving us with very little profit for our effort given the limited number of potential buyers in the OpenSim ecosystem.
Lastly, our marketplace fees are low compared to the 30% that are charged by most third-party virtual world marketplaces (e.g. Roblox) and online marketplaces that sell 3D content outside their own virtual world platforms (e.g. Unity Asset Store).
