In the SL Marketplace, my products are, at this very moment being purchased up by an individual for the sole purpose of writing false reviews and down-rating them. These are products that have stood the test of time and for which I've received nothing but praise for years. Here is a sample of these new vindictive reviews: "Hat was not as nice in world because it did not even meet expected quality the picture gives, seller is advised to provide better listing photos to ensure full representation of the product." It seems to be Nikita or a close friend--now by "LilFlowers". So much for hoping a fellow merchant might simply mend her ways with some degree of grace and aplomb.

Sierra, you are the one who started this debacle by fire-bombing the listing of a fellow Kitely Market merchant. In fact you admit to purchasing that product for the sole purpose of being able to post your "helpful" review of it - in public. I'm not buying your claim that you had no choice to go public in that way, either. If you had a serious problem with the listings of a fellow merchant and the merchant didn't respond, why didn't you contact Ilan about it? This isn't SL, where it's nearly impossible to actually get the attention of management. Ilan is consistently responsive to any report of problems with any aspect of Kitely. That's not to say that he can fix everything instantly, even when he recognizes a legitimate problem. But he will address it ASAP when there is a real problem with some part of Kitely.

Let me make this clear, Sierra. I don't have a problem with you reporting the listings of another merchant if said merchant didn't appear to be following the rules of the Kitely Market. I have a problem with the public way you went about it - misusing the review facility of the Market. (That, BTW, is the point that Oz has been trying to make with you.)

Yes, the Kitely Market doesn't work like the SL Marketplace does. And to that I say, "Bravo!" I'm not the only one here who hopes that the Kitely Market never becomes anything resembling the SL Marketplace - the Lindens already tried that and spectacularly failed. I'm hoping the Kitely Market grows, but continues to be what it is - something so much better than the SL MP.

Comparing Kitely to SL is like comparing apples to watermelons. Both are members of the same general group of things, but that is where any similarities end. Please stop holding up SL and the SL Marketplace as things to be emulated. Being like SL should not be the target for Kitely - we can aim so much higher.

The very first thing, when I first discovered virtual worlds, in secondlife, in 2003, was to change the skin, with the attached underwear. Who wears their underwear 100% of the time? And what do you do when the worn clothing is smaller than the attached "skin" underwear?

Hi Kandy,

There are supervised kids and unsupervised teenagers using Kitely, I'm sure you wouldn't want them running around adult-rated worlds. The maturity ratings help keep parents' and teachers' minds at ease while allowing adults to participate in adult activities without having to worry about acting inappropriately around children. In other words, letting each group participate in the types of activities for which they use virtual worlds without having to worry about how other people use virtual worlds.

General and Moderate rated skins, which have underwear attached, are intended for people who wouldn't wear clothing that is smaller than the covered parts of the skin (e.g. kids and people in a work environment). I have some items on the Kitely market. I rated them all, "adult". Not sure as if I need to but, I just list there to be safe and not cause trouble. I make the smallest, most revealing, sheerest, clothing that I can. I actually see a lot of my ideas in real life situations. I have been making these types of products, for a number of years in Second Life, It seems to be the only clothing that sells there. Maybe no one here is interested in items like that? We'll see.

Hi Kandy,

There are teachers who use virtual worlds as a teaching tool. At one time, before Second Life removed the educational discount they had over 100,000 educators inSL. There was also a time when children 13-18 years old had a place in a teenager grid inSL. Even then, the fact that SL made it difficult for children to safely share the same grid as adults forced many educators to use OpenSim instead.

Teachers use virtual worlds to engage students in class, letting them do things that would be hard or expensive to do in real life. There are, for example, virtual worlds that let kids visit mars or a deep sea observatory.

Regarding your item maturity ratings, some of them may be listed as Moderate (or even General), just look at the aforementioned Maturity Rating Guidelines. If an item fits the Moderate criteria then I recommend you list it as such so it will be seen by people using the default Moderate account maturity rating.

I have a 4-sim world set up for my 5-year-old granddaughter, who loves virtual reality, and whom I cannot take anywhere iSL, even the so-called G sims, because of the prevalence of so-called "Mature" avatars and their behaviors. That I can create a safe environment for her in Kitely is a huge reason why I'm here.
