some related new webgui features I am noting also...not finished yet...it does seem the public worlds now shows many more of them than previously due to all this.

Worth noting that access for Regular Account users is turned on by default on metered worlds, i.e. the world owner pays 1 KC/min as of now. Not really a change but if you only want access by Premium Account holders (who cost you nothing), you will need to deselect this under Manage|Access in the web GUI. Of course, if the Regular Account is a new one then they use minutes from their initial allocation of 6 hours before the world owner starts paying anyway.

History now shows another Event type called "Other", possibly when you are editing a world from the web GUI? [update: no, wrong timestamp]

While the page I pointed to nails the details and the unmetered worlds figure prominently on the home page, I personally would have put the Free Account option alongside the other three as per normal web practice. Presumably there was a reason for that?

In my worlds, previously free-to-visit worlds were automatically set to Regular Account access, while ones where people had used their own minutes to visit were automatically set to Premium Account access. So the switchover maintained the equivalent settings. Nothing to particularly be concerned about.

Hi Graham,

When we migrated the accounts we used the following logic when migrating Metered Worlds:
- If everyone was allowed to visit at the world manager's expense, then the world became open to both Premium Account and Regular Account users.
- If everyone was allowed to visit but at the visitor's expense, then the world became open just to Premium Account users.
- If only you were allowed to enter then the world remained closed to all other users.
- Groups access restrictions further complicated this but the semantics of the access controls remained in place.

Metered Worlds are an advanced feature that requires some mental effort from the user to use properly. We've therefore made it a bit harder for new users to accidentally select this option before they understand what it means. There is also the issue of how people view our service, we wanted to refocus the discussion on comparing our offering with that of other providers that offer fixed-price options. Giving equal emphasis to the Metered Worlds option would have made that a lot more difficult. People can no longer complete the creation of a new world without viewing the Access tab so the default settings shouldn't come as a surprise after they've already created the world (there are new "Next" and "Prev" buttons in the Create World dialog/wizard). If this is a new user without KC then de-facto only Premium Account users will be able to visit that world.

The "Other" event is a catch-all name for special events, such as us setting everyone's Minutes to zero as part of the update we rolled out today.

I may have missed it somewhere along the way but have there been any changes to the maximum prims and avatars for the metered worlds. I don't see any mention of it on the site.
