Spring Merchant Fair - Info for Merchants

Postby Ozwell Wayfarer » Wed Mar 02, 2016 7:41 pm

I am considering hosting a small spring expo In May. Not as big as the Merchant Fair was. Maybe just 1-2 sims.

To keep it fresh and interesting this time around merchants can only showcase/rez content that was released AFTER the last merchant fair (Oct 31st). Exceptions can be made for merchants that didn't participate in the last event.

Would this be of interest to people/merchants? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Seven merchants have signaled interest since I posted last night. If I can hit 18-20 I will get rolling with real plans.

ok so in just a couple of days I am very close to my magic 20 number. So I am 90% sure we will get this event off the boards :)

For merchants: It is very important that you contact me ASAP if you have large rezzables such as houses or landscaping that you want on display. Target start date is May 1st. But I would like all large landscaping finished at least 2 weeks in advance so we can focus on the smaller folks and the user experience.

This time around the layout will be two large central islands with many smaller interconnected islands radiating off. So there will be much more space to do your own thing than last time.

All types of products are welcome. But please understand we are restricting the size of the event this time to two sims. Super large builds will not be possible to accommodate.

Emphasis is on fresh, new content. Preferably released after Oct 31st or not previously displayed at last years fair.

There are no prim limits or fees to participate. Though donations towards the $20 it will cost to host are most welcome and appreciated.

Hi OZ, great idea. Not sure if you have enough people, if you got my IM, etc. Is it a go and have you decided firmly on May 1 as the date?

It does seem that due to holidays in April/May that it might be difficult for some to participate. Which is a shame but I am going to push ahead anyway and see what happens.

So this is a call for merchants with large rezzables such as landscaping, vehicles and houses to please get in touch ASAP. - Those of you who already did that, thank you and I will be getting in touch over the next week.

I would like to get the general landscaping and layout done no later than mid April, so we have a good 3 weeks to onboard merchants who are just having a small stall or display area.

Hey Everyone

Sorry to say, but due to unforeseen personal reasons, I will most likely be out of the country for most of April. This means that I can not reasonably coordinate the Merchant Fair in this time.

So regrettably I have to announce the fair is on hold until further notice. Any building work will be put "on-ice" and stored. I am very, very sorry to let the community down like this, but there is no way around it unfortunately.

Merchants can leave what they have done on-sim if they wish, or remove it as they see fit. Reasonably, I would expect the fair to take place at the old time of Oct/Nov.

My sincere apologies again to all involved.
