360 snapshot in virtual world

Post by Zuza Ritt »

LL just released the project viewer with ability to make 360 snapshots...
... and it CANNOT be used for capturing video in this form... but it could show the direction how to solve it?
I hope somebody in OpenSim development can use it some day for (quite demanding for computer performance?) video capturing? Would be a giant leap for (opensim) mankind! :)

360 videos, or even stills, would be a great way to promote opensim to new people.

Having a rendering mode that is like a fisheye lens would be necessary for real time. Otherwise, its just a script of positioning your camera in the four cardinal axes for snapshots.

yes, that seems aweseome, made me also think about our builds, ifwe put them on marketplace in kitely,
to film the 'walk inside' & show all good, move that to youtube & post a link (i do that with anim clothing now too in kitely market),
it wld give a great feel 'to walk in the build', & nicer than pics :)
