Welcome Marissa!!!

There is an event planned for August 10th where you can meet some folx-))

As to noob...well...some folx have some things for sale here and the Market will be up in September sometime.

In the meantime you could maybe enjoy having your free region?

Welcome Marissa!
Yah the jump out of SL into OS will make you feel like a noob for a while, but not long. For creating, the things I've successfully gotten my head around so far are: the workaround for avatar attachments (0,0,0 rot on the root prim, and don't edit the root while the thing is on), OAR files rather than saving builds in inventory, RAW files and terraforming (the brushes work a little differently), scripting differences and where to go for help, where to find the huge amounts of freebies available, and which viewer is good for what.
The sense of freedom is amazing.

I've been considering moving from SL to another Grid where I can afford more room to build. I'm really intrigued with Kitely. The on-demand loading of worlds seems to make much more sense both economically and environmentally. I'm a little hesitant in making the jump because so far, I've seen very little content and very few people, but I'm withholding judgement until the market place opens. I'm really hoping that the marketplace will bring content and people into the ecosystem. I've done some building and creating in SL, but I'm not skilled enough to do everything from scratch.

In the meantime, I can spend a little time exploring some pretty cool builds and start figuring out how I can do some of my own. The great thing is that it is inexpensive enough for me to hang out and experiment while I see what unfolds. From the forums it sounds like there are some good people involved in the project, so here is hoping that it really takes off and grows.

Welcome to Kitely Jason Dozier / Tully McLeod-))

There is a ton of good info on these forums about where to get content.

Just ask if you need anything specific-))

I cannot believe that I haven't introduced myself "officially" yet. So, here I am *waves* Hi all

I've been a member of Kitely for almost exactly a year and a half. I've had a world running off and on over that time, currently its Regio Excelsior, which is now my Metaverse HQ. I own Excelsior Armaments from which I sell combat related gear. I will also be selling a line of hover-vehicles. Not much imported yet, but I'm building as fast as I have time for. There's other projects I'm involved in, too, such as bringing the Myriad RolePlay System to Kitely.

Hey Sarge, you aren't the only one who hasn't introduced themselves yet. :D

I come from a Programming and Science communications backgrounds and have an interest in game design (not just computer games but also board games).

I have been a member of Kitely since very early on. I got into Virtual Worlds in Secondlife (but didn't own or rent any land), before moving on to Opensim (again back when it was just starting). I played around with various OS builds and some of the early worlds, although I didn't get into the communities of them. Finally I heard about Kitley and moved here (and can't see myself moving soon) :)

I have some stuff on Opensim Creations, and am planning on building and selling things in the Kitely Marketplace (mainly scripts and my modular "Cities" construction sets). I am also experimenting with EEG headsets and using them to control and move around the virtual worlds (and I am having some success with it).
