So usually i export worlds as back ups, but I kept seeing "copy world" as an option, so I decided to try it, probably should have asked here first. SO a copied world cost 150 KC, no worries, but exactly what did i do in coping a world and how is it different from exporting a back up? Plus i don't want to accrue additional fees by unknowing storing a copied world so i figured I had better ask. I am trying to figure out best practices but sometimes i am thick to understand. Thanks for your feed back.

Hi Salie,

Copy World enables you to create a new Kitely world by copying an existing one. By default that new world is a Stored World but you can change its world type like you can for any other world in your account. You can learn more about Stored Worlds on our services page: https://www.kitely.com/services

Copy World differs from Export World in several important ways:

1) The Copy World operation also copies items that aren't exportable from Kitely. This enables you to can create backups of your worlds that contain items that you can't backup to an OAR file. See: https://www.kitely.com/virtual-world-ne ... plemented/ and https://www.kitely.com/virtual-world-ne ... rmissions/

2) Running the Copy World operation results in a new world being added to your account, a world that you can visit at any time (after changing it from being a Stored World). Export World, on the other hand, creates an OAR file which is only kept on our system for a short time to give you time to download it.

3) Using Copy World can cause your account to be charged ongoing world storage fees (for storing the Stored World it creates) while Export World doesn't create an ongoing expense for the OAR file it temporarily stores on our system.
