Hi Zyzzyx,
Kitely worlds that are bigger than the standard Second Life region size are implemented using VarRegions. Meaning that the entire world is one big region as far as the viewer and server are concerned (i.e. a region with coordinates that go higher than 256). This results in the viewer expecting RAW files to be as large as the size of the world they are uploaded into and thus you can't replace only parts of the world with smaller Second Life region-sized RAW files.

Hi Zyzzyx,
I'm new to kitely and I wanted to chime in to tell you that I've learned that it takes an appreciable bit longer to upload a larger than 256x256 raw file, too. It surprised me when I started trying to upload my 2x2 region (512x512) raw files but I looked around and read that it was pretty normal for that to be the case.
Heads up!
