Hi Scurvy,

Worlds start the shutdown process 3 minutes after they become empty. We're currently working on speeding up the world startup and shutdown processes so that you'll be able to reenter a world quicker if you exist it and then wish to enter it again after it has already started shutting down. These improvements should be rolled out in the next few weeks.

Hello Ilan,
If your looking in this topic pls could you also make the time to login a bit longer. Thanks to my internet speed I can log in very early in the morning but during daytime most of the time I just can't which is extremely tedious to work and build in Kitely. Just as reference in sl I rarely have this problem. Only... my main building sim is Kitely and not sl and I like to keep it that way.
I know that Soren has looked into this, starting the region before I enter or while somebody is on the region doesn't really help the issue. I'm absolutely convinced it due to the internet connection <-> time to get in Kitely.
Thank you very much in advance

Hi Zed,

The last time we checked you were connecting from China and the UDP packet loss was quite high for your connection. That can cause login issues outside our control as the viewer has connection timeouts that are not tied to the ones OpenSim has. That said, the OpenSim performance work we're doing now does change some OpenSim UDP-handling code so your login experience may improve once we roll out that system update.

Zed -- you might try the SceneGate viewer (if you are using Windows). I find it has a much faster login than Firestorm.
