~ Contract Contender Withdraws From Competition ~

In an unexpected new release today, TechnOrganic Solutions has unexpectedly withdrawn its bid to build a Forward Infiltration & Deception Operative.

"We found ourselves following the wrong path", says CEO Dewey Cheatum, "and no longer have sufficient resources to dedicate to continue developing a prototype FIDO. But, we're not out of the game yet. We have entered into a partnership agreement with the Private Research Organization For Individualized Technologies that will still bring us some well deserved rewards."

The agreement between TOS and PROFIT involves TOS supplying undisclosed resources and facilities to PROFIT in return for a share of any revenue generated by the outcomes of any future development of the project.

When asked, Avatar Security Concepts & Innovations, Incorporated respond by saying "We have assigned the FIDO prototype project to Dr. Gene Sliser and Dr. Dee Butler. We have the utmost confidence that they will overcome any personal rivalries, with the result being that ASCII being awarded the FIDO development contract. The fact that TOS and PROFIT have found it necessary to partner together shows that they are worried about the high quality of our work and our ability to be innovative."

~ Break In At McGuffin Factory! ~

This year's harvest of McGuffins was at risk of contamination due to a middle of the night break in at the main dingle berry removal facility.

Although security camera recordings were inconclusive, Major May Hemm of TASER believes this to be the work of Archie Nemsis. "He's the only one with the skills to be able to get as far as he did", says Major Hemm.

Initially, Neil "Caveman" Anderthal was taken into custody, but he has since been released. Mr Anderthal was at work at Dairy Queen at the time.

Special inspection units have been dispatched to ensure that the harvest has not been contaminated. The McGuffin market is expected to remain stable until the results of the testing are published.

~ TASER Gets Some Help ~

In a historic move today, General May Hemm of TASER released a statement that they have contacted Falling Sky Detective Agency, a civilian organization, to help track down notorious criminal Archie Nemsis.

"It is clear that any time an official presence is in the area, the bad guys go to ground before we have a chance to do anything. We are too well known. Falling Sky's independent operatives can easily blend in with the population without arousing suspicion."

Agent Davis of Falling Sky stated "It's about time our work was recognised. We have been keeping a keen eye on criminal activity and corruption for quite some time now. We look forward to capturing this notorious criminal."

~ MURDER! ~

Early this morning the body of famed scientist, Dr. Gene Sliser, was discovered on west beach of Computer Plaza [ http://www.kitely.com/virtual-world/Dun ... uter-Plaza ]. Authorities report that he was the victim of a blunt force trauma, a single blow to the back of the head. Authorities estimate that the time of his death was at 24:62PM KST. Police forensics have not been able to find sufficient evidence to name a suspect or effect an arrest.

"Dr. Sliser will be missed by all of us at ASCII. He was a caring and highly motivated person", said Dr Deidre "Dee" Butler, spokesperson for Avatar Security Concepts & Innovations, Incorporated.

Dr Sliser was the recipient of many awards in the field of virtual genetics, including four Golden Phi Awards, two Geneticist of the Year Awards and others. His contributions to the science of technorganics cannot be measured.

ASCII has hired the Falling Sky Detective Agency to assist in capturing the perpetrator of this terrible crime, and is sponsoring their hiring of additional staff to help solve this crime as quickly as possible. Falling Sky reports that they will be prepared to commence hiring by the end of the day. Please quote 'Sliser Murder' to the official to be granted emergency detective status.
