Re: Lovely new map tiles
Thanks for letting us know. I doubt we'll have time to fix that now thou as it may require adding mesh support to Warp3D and that may be a very big undertaking.

no doubt
It is still a vast improvement Hopefully someone else will implement mesh support at some point

Re: Lovely new map tiles
It looks like the display of mesh on map tiles has been tweaked.
For example, look at Kitely Welcome Center on the map. The south-east corner used to be covered by a large dark circle (the trees there are mesh). It now shows the underlying land.

Re: Lovely new map tiles
We removed the rendering of transparent prims which were causing these types of black spots on the map. Mesh rendering and correct z-order rendering of objects is more complicated and hasn't been implemented yet.

z-order rendering? as in heights, right? a 3D look? if so, that would be very interesting to see.
You guys keep pushing the cool tech, I like it.

oh, I just noticed, at least up to 100,000 m that the sky is blue now, it wasn't before was it? and the stars are supposed to be different due to the 76 upgrade also.

Re: Lovely new map tiles
Hi Minethere,
It's already doing a 3D rendering, it's just very hard to tell due to the angle unless it's a tall object at the corner of the world map.
The problem is that the rendering isn't currently drawing the object from lowest to highest which means that in some cases objects that should be hidden by higher objects are currently drawn above them.

I had heard that if one puts a full region prim, textured, at 300 m it will show that in the world map. I tried it elsewhere and it didn't work.
Of course there is a way to do that in the OS sim ini, I think, but I never tried that, yet.
Is it possible that since you guys have implemented the warp3D thing, this could be done by people?
