Re: Time?
It's not a big deal. Just something I noticed and was wondering about it. I was wrong anyway because I thought I posted at 10:58 pm and it was actually 9:58 pm. Hawaii is two hours behind pacific time not one. But I'm still confused because it showed that I posted at 8:58. Greenwich Meantime is 7 hours ahead of pacific time during daylight savings time. So that would have shown as 4:58 am.

Re: Time?
Never mind. Just answered my own question. It must show the time it would be here if it wasn't daylight savings time - or if I lived in Arizona.

Re: Time?
You can change the times displayed by the forum to a timezone of your own choosing in the Board Preferences tab of the User Control Panel.

Re: Time?
Thanks Dot. I must have set the PST at some point? But apparently didn't check the box for "Summer Time/DST is in effect". Guess I should have checked Board Preferences first, but it didn't occur to me.

Re: Time?
I tend to set the time based on whatever grid I'm on. So for the Kitely forums I have it on UTC as that's what Kitely does. Another forum I'm on has its time set to a specific grid, so I go with that. My email and blogs are on US Pacfic time because I started in Second Life, still live there, and that's what they use.
However, I have proposed that all virtual worlds and virtual citizens adopt one time zone. Mainly because it can get confusing going from grid to grid.
I wrote an article about this recently...

Re: Time?
Same time everywhere ? So you want to use beat time ? Weeeird. I'm posting this @620.beats
Although I prefer GMT/BST local (which may mildly confuse those used to UTC/DST ), it makes sense that ALL times online should be displayed with their timezone and GMT offset, and much more preferably with the CURRENT time somewhere on the page so you can work it out with no effort
Displaying the real time removes any doubt about summer time or daylight savings, the difference between nearby countries summer times and real times, a country being 2 hours ahead instead of one hour, etc
Time these days is meaningless without knowing what it is based on.
