Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
I use L3DT and export as a .raw file. Every time I try to upload it in the world management I get 'corrupt file' no matter how I save it or export it...so far. I have no idea how to get it to a .oar file, still, trying to figure that out.
And nice terrain download, it loaded up fine when I used it.

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
possibly this will give you some needed information on L3DT:
http://myosgrid.wordpress.com/2013/02/0 ... r-opensim/
eta: this is to upload using an opensim console...I do believe, however, you can rename the ext from r32 to raw and it should work using the viewer estate tools...

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
Thanks, I wasn't aware of that option to upload RAW files. I got the 'it can take up to two minutes' warning and that was almost ten minutes ago and nothing yet. But it hasn't not worked...yet.

Hi Paiyo,
It's not clear from your message whether you're trying to upload the RAW file from inside the viewer or from our website so I just want to clarify that the website only supports uploading OAR files not RAW files.

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
I'm like that...not clear sometimes. I am trying both. I am not having luck figuring out OAR files. I use different programs and am able to get RAW files but not yet able to create OAR. So, I tried the website but can't since I don't have the OAR thing figured out. Now I am trying from within the viewer with RAW files. Wow, I even confused myself on that one. Thanks for the reply though.

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
I am trying from within the viewer. I am getting timed out warnings before anything else happens. I just did a RAW using L3DT. I'm going to keep researching different links I've been sent till I figure it out. If I could figure out how to make an OAR, I'd try to upload from the website.

Something new..." There was an IO Exception loading your terrain. Please check free space."
Got this when I tried to upload RAW file from L3DT in the viewer.

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
Hi Paiyo,
Where are you downloading your OAR files from?
What browser are you using to download them? I'm asking because some browsers, such as Safari, are sometimes configured to auto-extract downloaded files which can cause problems when you then try to upload those extracted files instead of the original OAR file. This can happen when TAR files are automatically extracted from downloaded TGZ or TAR.GZ files (which some people use to save OAR files).

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
I'm not clear, my bad...too much coffee or not enough.
I am currently only trying loading within the viewer (Phoenix Firestorm) using RAW files.
I don't know how to make the OAR files yet. Thought I did, but I didn't.

Re: OAR File / Editing Regions
Hi Paiyo,
The message you got means that the upload didn't complete and was stopped due to some network problem between your computer and our servers. Are you using a wireless network? If so, do you have a good stable connection?
As you're likely having networking problems I suggest that you don't do anything else inworld while trying to upload RAW files. Also, don't use your Internet connection for other things during the upload - browsers, file sharing and communication programs that may be running in the background can create networking spikes that may be interfering with your uploads.
