Welcome-)))) actually, part of the post was inclined towards pointing out the reality, that though some may not like it, and neither do I, that the western world has become more conservative since then.Deuce Halsey wrote:That video received extensive broadcast television airplay in the USA 40 years ago when it first came out. If it met the broadcast television standards of those days it won't cause any problems today. (Unless, of course, someone uploaded a "doctored" version to Youtube - but that looks like the original version to me.) I was in fact a high school student and fan of Ray Stevens when that song was released, so I remember it very well.
Thanks for the lighthearted blast from the past.
What was fine during those times [and it was some amazing times!!] is not so much fine anymore. Sexual graphics, of any kind, are now considered porn, which the video highlights in the cartoon parts...the problem is that laws are always on a slippery slope, once implemented in good meaning ways, they often then become warped into something else entirely, and such is the case with cartoons which may depict sexuallity. [and, no, I don't wish to discuss politics!!]
To my viewpoint, this entire conversation is related to fictitious avatars, none of us really looks as we do in rl...in the past this would have been ok, and not relevant, and in the past, as the wheel turns [RIP James Oliver Rigney, Jr aka Robert Jordan], it would have been ok, but not so much, nowadays.
Just another facet of playing to the lowest common denominator, which I dislike...but reality makes me realize there is nothing that can be done about it, so I accept whatever is done here, in the matter.
