How to rent out parcels in Kitely?

If you set the parcels you want to rent to - Group Deed - and than Tenants join the Group and get a special Group Role you design, where you choose exactly what rights they have on the Land, that problem is already easy to solve today at Kitely

The problem with that approach, and the reason why it's so rarely used in Second Life, is that it doesn't distinguish between different tenants in the same group. That is, as a tenant you can terraform your neighbours' plots (or not have the ability to terraform at all); you can all change each other's audio streams, and so on. Human nature being what it is, that's likely to give rise to ill-feeling and disputes.

The answer to this is to create the parcel, create a group for it specifically, create a role in it for what you wish the renter to have abilities for, then when they rent it, by whatever means, add them to that group and role.

You could do various other aspects using this method also.

You can further define the entire region with various limitations such as limits on terraforming depths and heights so to keep them from going all crazy on ya.
