Hi, if I build a single region world and later on sell it, the whole region, will it cease to show on My Worlds and can I go on making others or I will still have to pay for it and keep charging my "world buyer" for it to keep existing ???

Hi Carlos,

I don't understand your question. how exactly do you intend to sell a Kitely world from your account?

Hi, there is an option to sell land and I can apply it to a whole region - I believe that the world will still always remain mine and I have to pay the fees, it will not be transferred to the buyers account, he just wins the rights to use it, correct ?

Carlos, if you want to sell your build, the usual way to do it is to export it as an OAR file (assuming you created everything in it) and sell copies of the OAR file. That has no effect on your build--the buyer will simply upload the file into another world and it will be just like yours. You can sell multiple copies of that file.

If you have a regular account and are paying only for metered time, you can cut the costs simply by allowing no one into that world and staying out of it yourself. If that is the only world you have, I think you could cut the costs to zero for a metered world if no one goes there.

The Viewer may show you the option of selling the land, but I think that may be a carryover from Second Life. In Firestorm, I see something like that, but I doubt that it is implemented. Firestorm has several bits of language, including references to Governor Linden, that are clearly leftovers from Linden Lab. Ilan will probably clarify that point.

Great answer, many thanks, now I see why Ilan Tochner was surprised

Does OAR save and export all the buildings, objects and scripted/animated content or just the one I made and not the one I purchased ?

OAR exports automatically filter out content which was bought from Kitely Market and doesn't have the Export permission, content that does have the Export permission is saved to the OAR file. For content not originating from Kitely Market, OAR exports filter out content which you didn't create unless you have both Copy and Transfer permissions for it. For details see: http://www.kitely.com/virtual-world-new ... plemented/ and http://www.kitely.com/virtual-world-new ... rmissions/

Lovely, now I also understand why the option - Export - is listed on object building/edition tools and Market

Please note that the Export permission shown in the viewer is not the same as the one in Kitely Market. The one in Kitely Market is enforced, the one in the viewer is currently not enabled.

I do hope the export checkbox in the viever will stay disabled. I don't feel much to check every single prim in a complete build for this checkbox to be enabled before I export my builds to an oar file. Might as well start all over again in that case.

Ami, anyone feel free to correct me, but it is my understanding that export checkbox is due to another alternate proposal for such things led by Melanie of Avination.

It is always interesting to me how such a relatively small population can have such diversity in how things should be done. [even if my above understanding is incorrect]
