Oar export failing
Hello,
I am confused that I export is not working as I expected. I used to export my regions systematically and regularly to make sure I don't lose content I fully own.
I see that there are some objects not exporting because 'they contain errors'.
I am not able to find what these errors are because the object works just fine. It is a rezzor, and all the objects in there I own. What could be going on here?
I also see some objects which are distributed freely with full perm also not exporting? I save not to reload elsewhere but to be able to recreate a region from an oar if for some reason I lose my online content due a server side crash/something of that nature that I have no control on.
Any help, pointers to information deeply appreciated.
Ramesh

Ramesh, if you have not been using the export world report they offer for free, you might do that upon the next export...it is extremely useful.

Re: Oar export failing
I checked it out, there are objects that are supposed to be not exportable, even things I got from Linda kelly for e.g.
That's ok
but there errors such as
'The following objects weren't exported because they contain errors.
sceneRezzor [Position (126.8, 129.4, 20.2), UUID e50259fd-2eca-43e3-8a80-cdef6f0818cc]'
And I created that object and the objects it contains.
In any case, how does one make objects exportable? If it is too much work, I will probably never use freebies ever again, because it makes backup plans too cumbersome.

Re: Oar export failing
I also see kitely freebie avatars not exporting ... and my regions use npcs that point to these avatars too.
So I guess I cannot use them even as npcs?
Do we have to create avatars from scratch now, with the new export in place?
Because this will impact a lot of my existing content, and how I set up my user orientation.

Re: Oar export failing
I think the items need to be at least C/T but it may be C/M not my thang as I import rather than export my worlds.
Hopefully someone who knows will speak up soon-))

Hi Ramesh,
The freebie avatars we give should be exportable. You can also get additional exportable freebie ones form the Kitely Welcome Center.
I've asked Oren to review the errors you've encountered.

Re: Oar export failing
Hi Illan,
I think it the parts that can create trouble
For e.g. the shoes that one of the ladies wear, is not exportable ... so this whole lady avatar is thus not exportable ..., I have not checked extensively but I think this issue will affect every avatar that has some attachment with restrictions (will check).

Re: Oar export failing
All the attachments we provided should be exportable, please give us concrete examples (with UUID and location inworld) if they aren't.
