newbie here trying to figure out something

a friend of mine has generously offered me a region as part of her group of regions. she set the land for sale but had to leave, i tried to buy it from her and no matter what i do it just tells me
"there has been an error while fetching land buying information" so i cannot buy it. i've logged out a couple of times to see if that would fix it but it does not seem to be doing anything.

can you not buy land from someone else here? or did she goof somehow? she's also new to kitely so its possible we broke something!

There is needed a group to use the land. You have two options:
1. You join a group of friend of yours and the land is set to her/his group. You need the rights to modify terrain and building.
2. You create the group (100 KC). A friend of yours joins that group, deeds the land to this group (as co-owner). You have all rights as an owner of the group plus you can invite your friends to that group.

So far I used solution 2 but I haven't checked what is going to be when co-owner leaves the group.

Ok... so... I'm changing this post to the update of things we did:

- do not set land for sale.
- have person you want to "sell" land to create a group that will be associated with their land
- they will initially need to add you as a co-ower of the group and will either need to [tempoarily] allow members to deed land to group or will need to set yo as a co-owner (keep in mind that once an owner, that you will need to remove yourself from the owner group - if appropriate - owners cannot remove/demote one another, owners can only remove/demote themselves)
- once you are a member of the group, set land to the group that will become the "land owner"
- hit the deed button to deed the land to group (if you do not see this button, relog and give it up to 15 minutes... if you still don't see it, logout... get a beverge, take a bathroom break and relog again and see if it is there. It may take up to 30 minutes.
- the owner of the group/the group should now be able to manage region/parcel permissions via their group
- if you have allocated the group a region, you may (or may not) wish to add the group owner as a manager of the region/estate.
