Ocean Level different in four-region and Megaregion modes

I searched for other threads on this but didn't find anything.

In a new 2x2 region, I noticed that there was a line separating the ocean from the region's water. The region was in Megaregion Mode. See pic.

I looked at the water level and it was 20.00

I turned off Megaregion mode and went around to all four regions. The water level said it was 19.90. I changed them all to 20.00. I saw all the water change and no split.

The water split you see does not appear when Megaregion Mode is off. I checked and double checked. I turned on Megaregion Mode and the split reappears.

You are welcome to go and look - maybe its just me. Edummersive Learning Worlds

Is there a setting I'm missing? None of the water environment settings changes the levels. I've not had this happen before in any opensim, so I'm stumped.

Hi Ghaelen,

Advanced Megaregion mode takes the water level for the entire world from its root region setting (which you set via the viewer inside the root region when Advanced Megaregion mode is turned off).

If you encounter this problem again please clear your viewer cache and viewer inventory cache then exit the world and reenter it to ensure the viewer gets the latest data from the simulator running your world.

Thanks, Ilan,

I had already cleared my cache, but not my inventory cache so I re-cleared both of them. The split still shows, but now I see that it only shows along the north and east borders. The water in the root region is even with both the ocean around it and the other regions it touches. Given that water is level, the water in two regions should be a tiny bit lower than in the other two, but it isn't. It must be in my viewer somewhere, yes. So I'm going to see if other people see the split. If not, I'm not going to worry about it.

I have a similar problem. The water to the north and east of 3 regions in the Calchester 3x3 is lower than my setting of 20 meters. Since it is owned by Kitey -- nothing exists there -- I wasn't worried. Just reporting it. Regions are a megaregion world.

Have you seen this effect happen in Kitely worlds you do not own?

Haven't looked, really. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I see any.
