If your world is taking a long time to start up, check whether some of the meshes have very complex physics shapes.
If they do, turn them phantom and use a simple invisible prim (if needed) as a bounding box.
Plants can be particularly bad for this if they aren't phantom and are made of several overlapping meshes that haven't had special simplified physics shapes made for them.
With Ilan's help, searching out these has halved the time spent in Kitely Transfer Station waiting for Intersections to fire up. It's now about a minute instead of over two minutes -- not too bad for a 4x4 varregion with 30k+ prims!
Thank you, Ilan!
