Rights of a world owner

Post by Alexina Proctor »

Is there an article about what rights a world owner has? I was told that as a world owner I should be able to move anyone's objects on my world if the object is not locked. I cannot. All I can do is return an object if it is in the way.

I'm not sure if there's something sepcial about Kitely but if it works the way other opensim grids do, you have to enable "God mode" (Ctrl+Alt+G) for this. You disable God mode with Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G.

Hi Alexina,

We don't allow God mode in Kitely because it poses a security and content protection risk. God mode can be used to take ownership of other people's content and the fact that someone rezzed something in your world doesn't mean that you have their permission to take ownership of it. If you want to be able to modify other people's content then they should assign those objects to a group that you belong to. That's what group ownership was designed for - to allow multiple people to work together when building objects.
