I am trying to understand pricing for stored worlds. I have an advanced 16-region world. In the event of a catastrophe, I want to make sure I have a good backup of everything. There are a lot of things that will not get saved in an OAR.

So, do I periodically ask for a stored world backup when we make major changes? My understanding that one region is free per month and additional regions cost 10KC per day. So, with 15 regions after the one free, it would cost me about US$17 / 30-day month for my 16-region world + 150KC for each backup request. Is that correct?

How often do worlds get backed up by Kitely administration?

Hi Alexina,

There are multiple ways you can get backups in Kitely:

1) Kitely automatically saves up to 10 days of daily backups for each world. There are created automatically by our system and you can request we restore your world to a previously saved world state at any time. doing so doesn't cost you any money or KC.

2) You can export worlds to an OAR file. Exporting Stored Worlds costs 150 KC but exporting worlds that have an active subscription is free of charge. This form of backup respects exports controls so may not include everything your world currently has. See: https://www.kitely.com/virtual-world-ne ... plemented/

3) You can use the Copy World function in your My Worlds page to create Stored World copies of your worlds. You get one region-sized Stored World area for free but additional ones cost 10 KC per day for each region-sized area they contain. So, for example, if you have one Advanced World which you've turned into a Stored World you'll be charged 10 KC * 15 region-sized areas (the world's 16 region-sized area minus the free region sized area you get for free) = 150 KC per day to have that world be saved as a Stored World. Kitely Credits cost in USD depends on whether you buy them at the regular price (of 200 KC per 1 USD) or at a discounted price (which can be as low as 300 KC per 1 USD when buying at least $50 worth of KC in bulk).
