Is 16 Regions 4 worlds?

Post by Lunk Portal »

I am thinking about getting the 16 region package, is that 4 x 4 regions? i.e. the 4 operate as 4 regions independent of each other?

So I could have 1 world (4 regions) a science fiction world, and say another world (4 regions) a vacation home and they could operate with different land rules and regulations and music?

Thanks

4x4 refers to the x and y coordinates, ie one land mass.

Hi Lunk,

Each Kitely world is a single separate VarRegion. The world type you order for that world will define the amount of server resources your world will get, and that in turn will define how big you can make that world's VarRegion. As a world is a single VarRegion you can't treat different parts of it as though they were separate regions (but you can split it into multiple parcels).

Ahh, so 16 regions is still 1 varregion. I think I could still make it work for what I need. Thanks!

Would that be 2048 x 2048?

Thanks again!

A standard Second Life region is 256x256 meters in size. 4 x 256 = 1024, so a 4x4 region sized Kitely world is 1024x1024 meters in size. Our Dedicated Server worlds are up to 8x8 regions in size which means they can be set to be 2048x2048 meters in size (as a single VarRegion, not as 64 separate 256x256 meter sized regions).
