Vivox/Voice off?
Voice or Vivox does not seem to be on in several of my worlds...
I have it Enabled in viewer of course..
Is there a way I can enable Vivox/Voice from our Kitely World pages or somewhere?
I'm kinda need it in all our worlds for storytelling, but most urgently for Neaburn City where our story is this week..

Thank you for helps!

Re: Vivox/Voice off?
Hi Shandon,
According to this post on the Firestorm website:
"The Vivox voice service (what we know as SLVoice) is being removed from Second Life. It seems quite likely that once Linden Lab have released their new voice solution (known as webRTC), the providers of Vivox (Unity) will disable the existing system forever. It is my intention to get a Firestorm viewer with webRTC released as soon as is practical."
It's likely that Vivox will be disabling their service for OpenSim as well, in which case the problem you've encountered may be the result of that. If that's the case then when OpenSim has a working webRTC solution we'll adopt it in Kitely as well.

Re: Vivox/Voice off?
Thank you Ilan..
So voice is not working for anyone in Kitely at this time?
(just like to know so I don't try further troubleshooting if that is pointless)
I thought I remembered that Kitely had some special relationship with Vivox
live storytelling, and interactive training.. is kinda tricky without Voice...
but we can use stream for our half-duplex presentations anyhow...
watching anxiously for developments.. thank you for the response and current info

Re: Vivox/Voice off?
Hi Shandon,
Kitely uses a different Vivox server from the one other (most / all?) OpenSim grids use but if Vivox is discontinuing support for OpenSim then that will affect us as well.

Re: Vivox/Voice off?
so... just so I understand then... at this time Voice/Vivox is working for some folks in Kitely but not everyone?
I did reinstall my Viewer.. is there perhaps something I need to whitelist with my AV in order for Kitely Vivox to work?

Re: Vivox/Voice off?
Last I checked it didn't work for me in any of the worlds I visited. It could be an intermittent Vivox problem or it could be due to the aforementioned reason. I can't really say whether it currently works for anyone else. Our servers still send viewers the Vivox server URI that was allocated to us but I can't currently determine whether any viewer can connect to it. It's possible that it works from some geolocations but not from others.

It doesn't work for me in Kitely but it works in Wolf Territories for local avatars. The Kitely avatars don't have voice in WT but the local avatars do. We've been using Discord.

Re: Vivox/Voice off?
Thank you Kimm & Koshari,
So I guess Vivox is still around at the moment, just not working in Kitely.
Which is too bad it would be very helpful to have it here again, but I guess it's not a deal breaker as I can use stream, though I do prefer voice.
But what is is.. and what isn't isn't.. and have a cold beverage and move along!
thanks all!!
