New Firestorm release
Firestorm released a new version of its viewer yesterday. This was done because of upcoming changes in Second Life but I see on Firestorm's website, there is a note to Open Sim users about new features catering to them/us.
What is the reccomendation from Kitely on which Firestorm version to use here now? This brand new version or the previously released Open Sim version of Firestorm?
Thanks

Re: New Firestorm release
Thank you for the heads up Danko.
We haven't tested it yet so would be grateful for some user feedback to see if it is better than the current Firestorm version (v4.2.2) that we give to new users.
If it resolved the various issues that existed in v4.3.1 then we will upgrade to using it.

I upgraded yesterday and it seems to be working well.Ilan Tochner wrote:Thank you for the heads up Danko.

I had already resolved old and more recent issues by following step by step directions on the Firestorm Wiki Troubleshooting guide. Required some patience, but well worth it.

Hi Marstol,
Did you encounter any of the OpenSim support regressions that were reported on Firestorm v4.3.1?

Can use 99% hollow and made a 256 x 256 meter prim using Firestorm 4.4.0 (Opensim).

Re: New Firestorm release
For those interested, Inara Pey has done an excellent and detailed review of the new Firestorm release...

The feature that caught my eye is a Settings Back-Up which allows you to store a record of your favorite settings for some commonly customized items so that you can restore them easily after future Firestorm releases.

Re: New Firestorm release
The other huge issue for content creators is the bug where avatar system layers (skins, clothing etc) fail to save in the OS compliant versions of Firestorm - and why I use Imprudence for skin and tat layers, at least for now. Has anyone seen a review of this yet?
