Texture anims

Frequently, when I beam to a world, texture anims on objects are not working. Right clicking usually enables it.
I noticed this happening a while back, and thought little of it, but it's starting to bug me now.
Any ideas ?

(I've pretty much got all the graphics settings cranked to max in the unlikely event that it matters)

Are you referring to textures on attachments or those that are part of the world?

Do the objects have scripts that reset the texture animations on sim restart?

just normal animated textures on normal in-world objects. There are more animated objects to notice it on now :)
animated textures on attachments, hmm, interesting idea !

The script is unlikely to control the anim, or more likely, the anim part of the script has done it's work already and is not in use.

If you are the person who prompted the world to start up then the script may be needed to reset the object properties, without which the animation wouldn't be active.

texture anims are supposed to stay with the object ?
Hmm.

Why don't you try an experiment? Rezz two objects in a world both with scripts that set texture animation. One that also resets it on sim start and the other that doesn't. Then leave the world, wait 5 minutes for the world to shut down then re-enter it. See which of these animations is active then report back. :-)

Okies, I can already guess what the answer will be, scripted reset vs. prim properties.. heh.

to me, it feels like the same phenomena when you beam in and sculpties (occasionally) don't load till they are clicked.
