Hi Cecil,

We'll be updating the Firestorm version we give on our website in our upcoming site update.

this new version does not work for me at all. Crashes immediately after log-in. I am about to reinstall my old version. Again.

Hi Freda,

Are you using the 32bit version or the 64bit version?

Did you uninstall the previous version before installing that version or did you install it on top of a previous version?

I did a clean install of the 64bit version last night. So far, so good.

I am using the 32 and did a clean install using the directions in the firestorm wiki. I have installed, deleted and re-installed several times. It crashes on start-up or log-in every time. I tried re-installing an older version bit that was a flop too. I am no using Cool Viewer. It is very smooth but lacks some features I was used to in Firestorm. Or maybe I just have not located those features yet.

Hi Freda,

Have you tried updating your graphics card driver?

Also, please try launching the viewer and, before you login to Kitely, opening the viewer preferences and changing graphics settings to Low. Then login to the grid and see if you crash. If you don't try gradually increasing your graphics settings until you find the point at which you crash. Once you find that point start manually removing graphics effects until you find the one that causes the crash. You can then re-enable the rest of the effects.

I did try updating the graphics card and driver it told me I already had the most recent. I will try your other suggestion right now. Thanks, Ilan.

This is gonna really highlight my lack of techie creds, but how does one know if they need the 32 or the 64?
