Import .XML Files and Imprudence

I know how to export/import linksets from one viewer/grid to another as .OBJ files.
As Ilan points out great directions can be found here --> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_import_export

For .XML files however, I use Imprudence. Is there a better way? Or a way to use Firestorm?

An example of an .XML file to upload could be Vanish's tea set:

Incidentally, this question is not about the tea set, I already have the tea set, and it's awesome. My question is about importing .XML files.
:D

Hi Shandon,

I don't think so. I believe Firestorm used to export and import XLM's as part of link-sets, but changed that around the time they started importing mesh. Sometimes I worry about XLM's becoming obsolete and think I should convert all my old ones, but I never quite get around to it. Singularity exports and imports XML's and mesh.

Ah! I hadn't thought about Singularity.. Thank you Marstol!

If anyone is interested, Singularity and Imprudence and a few others can be downloaded from:

Does 5 years constitute 'necro-posting'??

Anywhow, just wondering if there is anything new that might have happened and I may have missed in the realm of Importing/Exporting XMLs..

Is Imprudence and Singularity still the only way?

Thanks.
:-)

Isn't that the Backup option on the Firestorm pie menu, two levels down under Save As... ? Reverse is Build/Upload/Import Linkset.

Unfortunately no, that is .obj for linksets, or .dae for mesh models.
[edit: .oxp for linksets, .dae for mesh]

.xml is still the only way to do some things. and it's kinda scary to have to rely on an older viewer to access .xml's
and to perform some of the functions that import/export with .xml's can achieve. :?

Not .obj but .oxp (unless we have different FS versions). I suspect .oxp is an abbreviation of .oxps which apparently (i.e. news to me) is a wrapper format for xml (see http://www.ecma-international.org/publi ... ma-388.htm). But I could be wrong!
