Hi Selby,

Where were you when you pasted the same address into World Map? (in Kitely? some other grid?)

Please note that if the items contain no-export components that originated from Kitely Market that you won't be able to hypergrid teleport out of Kitely even if the items are MCT. Is that the case?

Please clear your cache and inventory cache and try repeating these steps again. Did anything change?

Note my description of the test. I was able to teleport to that location on the initial try. Only on the second try did I get the teleport failed message. So if any part of my avatar is not exportable, your detection is failing to catch that. All of my avatar was made by Ada Radius, nothing bought on the Kitely market. Furthermore, I have visited at least a dozen hypergrid places from Kitely and in this avatar. This case is the first time I have had a report of non-exportable parts. If I really have non-exportable parts, you have big problems with your export test

Note also that the reports I have gotten are not the same, with no change in the avatar. Here are 2 reports that I got today
Pants
Eyes
Shirt
Hair
Shape
Skin

shirt
skin
hair
eyes
shape

I did clear cache and inventory cache with no change in results.

I did further tests that clarified the problem a bit. I find that on the first attempt to go to this place, I am able to go with no problem, whether I use the address bar in Firestorm or the world map. On the second and subsequent attempts to tp that location, I get the failed message. I get the same message when I try to use the Landmark I got there.

On further tests, I find that I cannot tp to other HG destinations after the first (which is reliably successful). Various error messages are returned.

Okay Selby, we'll review the logs to see if we can find the source of the problem.

Hi Selby,

I found more information about what's happening. Your outfit, i.e. your worn Body Parts and Clothing, are indeed Exportable. But after your HG teleport, the destination region for some reason doesn't like your Appearance items. This causes OpenSim to try to replace them with default items instead, so that your avatar will at least be visible and not appear as a cloud. These replacement items have generic names such as "Shirt", "Eyes", etc., and their description is always "Failed Wearable Replacement". OpenSim tries to add them to your "Body Parts" folder, but while you're on another grid that folder is inaccessible because it's not in your Suitcase, so the items are added to the "Lost and Found" folder instead. If you look at that folder right now you'll see lots of copies of these items (please delete them).

The replacement items are non-exportable, which is why you fail to teleport again afterwards. You'll notice that all the error messages specify item names such as "Shirt" and "Eyes", and these aren't your regular appearance items. Fortunately these replacements are temporary, so after you logout and login again you get back your original appearance which contains your Exportable items.

I believe that the root problem is somewhere in the foreign region: why doesn't it accept your appearance? When you're over there, do you appear correctly to yourself? To other users? Or do you appear wearing generic clothes?

Please try to reproduce this problem with regions other than "Maritime Club Belfast", or grids other than OSGrid. If the problem doesn't happen again then we'll know that the problem is specific to that region.

Hi Oren -- thanks for the analysis of the problem. That makes sense.

When I am in Belfast my av looks normal. I get no messages about problems or replacements. I think Belfast is running 0.8, so the problem may be widespread.

I will test other places, including some that I know are running 0.8. I have not seen it before, but I may not have created the necessary conditions.

I will also test a change of avatars to see if the problem is specific to my avatar.

Further tests lead me to the conclusion that the problem, as I can observe it, is isolated to Belfast. I can demonstrate it reliably on return from Belfast, but nowhere else.
The problem is always cured by logoff-logon. That is adequate for my purposes. I dont need any better solution.

Thank you for your help

Test details below

Belfast is running OSgrid 0.8.0 (Dev)
I tested it Wearing Logan avatar from KWC
I appeared normal in my viewer. No one else was present in Belfast to report on my appearance to others.
On return to Kitely, I found that attempts to TP on Hypergrid failed with the usual message about wearing non-exportables.

Changing back to Thinkerer restored the ability to TP over Hypergrid but did not fully restore my Thinkerer appearance.
A second trip to Belfast restored failure condition.

Re: HG TP problem, inconsistent results

This problem is caused by a bug that used to be in OpenSim. The bug was fixed on Feb 20, 2014 by justincc. Regions that are running OpenSim 0.8.0 and haven't been updated since Feb 20 will exhibit this behavior (the creation of bad items called "Failed Wearable Replacement"). Please contact the owners of the regions and ask them to update their OpenSim, since the release version of OpenSim 0.8.0 doesn't have this bug, and it fixes other important bugs as well, such as the "disappearing attachments" problem.

Here are a couple of regions that have this bug:

1. Maritime Club Belfast
hg.osgrid.org:80:Maritime Club Belfast
OpenSim 0.8.0 Dev OSgrid 0.8.0 (Dev) 966ab21: 2014-01-24 (Win/.NET)
(OpenSim Date: Jan 24, 2014)

2. Hyperica
hg.hyperica.com:8022
OpenSim 0.8.0 Dev a8e64cd59a7a296b7cae6fc0a66255a7f566e10d r/24323 (Unix/Mono)
(OpenSim Date: Feb 1, 2014)

And this is the bug that was fixed:

2/20/2014 - 4d1426e - justincc

* For now, do not replacing missing wearables with default wearables if itme details cannot be found.

This is causing many issues on OSGrid, possibly due to teleporting timing differences with simulators hosted in different places or HG teleports
Added a bit more logging for debug purposes.
