Kitely and Second Inventory

Post by Barnard Smith »

Hi I just moved in and I am having trouble getting my Second Inventory program set up to work with Kitely. The Second Inventory error I keep I keep getting is that my Kitely avatar cannot be verified. I have the Kitely custom grid set up with the login url as http://osgrid.kitely.com:8002/ opensim, and I know my ID and password is right but it doesn’t work. Does anyone out there have some steps on how to make Second Inventory work with Kitely? Id really like to move some of my stuff in. Some configuration steps would be a big help :) Thanks

Hi Barnard,

To use Second Inventory with Kitely you need to configure it with the grid information that is listed here: http://www.kitely.com/#!startviewers

Your user name is the name of your avatar (you can see it in the viewer when you are logged in).

Your Kitely grid password is not the same as your Kitely website account password (the default grid password was randomly generated when you first created your Kitely account). You can configure both these passwords in your Kitely account's Settings page: http://www.kitely.com/#!settings

In the Settings page, disable the "Use Kitely Plugin to launch the viewer automatically" option until you are done using Second Inventory.

Once you've done all of the above, press the Enter World button in your world's world page and wait until you get a message that the world has started and that you can now manually log in with your viewer. You will then have 2 minutes to log in with Second Inventory before your world shuts down for lack of activity (it won't shut down if you login in time).

Please let us know if you encounter any problems.
