How do you go about setting partners/spouses?

Post by Ohn Lang »

Two wonderful new residents have registered today, Anita and Alan Hawks. They would like to know how to set the Partner field in their profiles.

I use Firestorm. When I look at my profile, the Partner field is set to None and looks to be hard-coded. If it cannot be changed in our Profiles, would it be possible to submit such requests to Oren and Ilan to handle on the server side?

Yes, We are interested in this as well.
Is there a currrent method to achieve this?
If not, will there be in the future?
Thanks

Hi Dinero,

We'll investigate implementing this feature for a future release. If it's simple to do then we'll do so soon.

As you have seen, the viewer doesn't allow changing the partner. Second Life have a form on their website to send partner requests. We might add something like this in the future, if the volume of requests is high enough, but for now we will handle these requests manually:

If you want to set your Partner in the profile then please contact us. In cases where it isn't obvious that the two partners are related to each other please have both partners send a request.

The requests can also be made as private messages sent to me inside this forum. We will need to see requests from the accounts of the two people who wish to be defined as partners.

Well, that's all fine and good, but no one is discussing a very important aspect of becoming partners/spouses! Who performs the ceremony? What choices does a couple have for denomination and style? What are the qualifications of the one who performs the ceremony? Where does one go for formal attire appropriate for these ceremonies? Are there planning consultants? What is the average cost of the ceremony?

Well all of that IS Important, if it is someone whom was met here.
For ourselves it was just a wish to display our partnership on Kiely Grid as well.
My lovely wifeh Jade/Inga and myself have been Partnered on SecondLife since Feb 25th 2012.

I added one of our wedding pictres as an avatar.

Here are some of the pictures and video from our wedding ceremony if any one has an interest.
