Thank you Shandon, that looks like a very simple mesh, which means this Firestorm problem is worse than we realized.

Whenever this crash happens please use the Firestorm bug reporting window that opens to submit information about it so that the viewer developers will prioritize fixing it.

it might help (imo) for owners who really tc of their world, to talk together
i really believe that, what a time'winning' it could give everyone (i think?)

Thank you Ilan.. the new Firestorm bug reporting app is called BugSplat apparently.. i have been diligently recording EVERYTHING I can about every crash.. including my email even. I also started writing notes like "Is anyone actually looking at these??" but so far no response.

I have not had these kind, and number, of issues before the viewer upgrade.

I am diligently using FirestormSL viewer for SL, and the FirestormOS viewer for Kitely. I am often in both grids simultaneously.
The Firestorm webpage cryptically alluded to using only the FirestormOS viewer for both grids if you're on both a lot. But then the rest of the page drums in to use SL for SL and OS for OS.
Anyone have an opinion on this? I'm betting someone clever like Selby has thoughts on it... :-)

(and oh yes the obvious answer is ask Firestorm team.. have, but not response)

I'll not torture you with more crash reports unless you want them.

Anywho, thanks alll!

The critical difference between Firestorm SL and FirestormOS: The SL version uses the Havoc physics engine, not available in OS. As I understand it, FirestormOS will not use the Havoc engine in SL, resulting in poorer performance. I have never tried that, always using the SL version in SL.

There may be other, undocumented differences between the two

Hi Shandon,

Can you please send me the simplified mesh that causes the crash? If possible, please email me the mesh you uploaded into Kitely to get this mesh into your inventory.

Hi Ilan,
Sorry for delay.. I've had lots of different meshes that crash me, but this last one was Witchy's typewriter from Kitely Market...
(which will be featured prominently in this week's story at Thursday at 7pm <-- shameless plug!)

I can't send to you as it is No Copy.

But here it is on Kitely Market. I can buy one and have it delivered to you if that helps?

Thank you.

Thank you Shandon but that will no longer be necessary.

We've already debugged the viewer and found the source of the problem but before we could report it to the Firestorm developers they sent out an email to their beta testers stating that they'll be releasing an updated viewer to address this issue (which they've gotten more than 1000 bug reports for). Now we'll just have to wait for that new viewer version to be officially released.

Great that they're tackling this issue!

Too bad that it wasn't caught in beta.

But, with an all-volunteer development team, who can fault them I suppose?
