Missing OpenSim Library in latest Firestorm

Post by Graham Mills »

The folders in the OpenSim Library in the latest Firestorm appear to be empty. Just me?

Firestorm 6.6.8 (68380) Jan 3 2023 20:56:25 (64bit / SSE2) (Firestorm-Releasex64) with OpenSimulator support.

I checked this a few moments ago. That folder doesn't appear to be empty on my end. Running the latest 6.6.8 release.

Thanks for this. I suspect it is something on my system that blocks loading of the files. I can see the folders and selecting one displays "Loading..." alongside but the contents never load. However, I see the same with SceneGate so it's not FS-specific. Moreover, I have the same issue with my OSCC alt on that grid so it's not a Kitely issue either. Presumably just a coincidence that it started to happen when I installed the new FS.

Having the same issue with Firestorm, no inventory, empty, am an orange blob. Tried removing cache, restarting, the usual things, but noooo dice.

Just tried again by removing Firestorm, with REVO uninstaller, so I know I got it all. No change, no inventory, orange blog.

Stuck

Hi Julia,

The orange cloud problem you described is a known OpenSim issue. This article explains how it can happen and what you can do to fix it: https://metaverse4me.wordpress.com/2012 ... -be-fixed/

Hi Ilan,

Tried your solution with creating a new outfit, went from an orange blob to some sort of basic av, but still no inventory.

Stumped

Do you possibly have some inventory filters selected? See https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/my_inventory_tab_eep

No filters, one of the first things I checked. :-/ I'll try again with a clean Windows running in a VM. Will report back what I find.

No luck at all. Started Firestorm (Linux Mint version this time, was Windows 11 before) in a clean VM, no change, no inventory, am also an orange ball...

I'm seeing your inventory in our database so the question is why aren't you seeing it in your viewer. What viewer version are you using? Do you have a firewall installed on Windows (which is where you're running the Linux VM as well) or on your router? Do you have an antivirus installed, which may be filtering your network access as well?
