Panning not working properly

I'm not sure what the right term is but I no longer have any control over camera panning with the LMB-alt. When I hold down the alt key and left click, the object immediately is zoomed in as close as possible. The regular camera controls work properly but not the manual panning, etc. I have absolutely no control over it. It works fine in other virtual worlds and always worked fine in Kitely before today. Any ideas? I am using Firefox 4.5.1.

Ok, we have more problems. I tried another viewer, Imprudence, and the panning worked fine but my avatar sort of disappeared. At least most of him. I was left with a few grassy remnants and a bit of bark for legs and my head turned into a small piece of mesh. I don't mind being organic but this is a little much!

A little update/edit...this avatar thing is happening in all virtual worlds so I don't know what the heck is going on. Will have to do some troubleshooting I guess.

Is the avatar wearing mesh? Imprudence doesn't support mesh so will show the prim equivalent instead.

Well, I guess it's not really mesh...it's what you can see in the pic above where the head should be. Yeah, that's right, it doesn't support mesh. Anyway, not gonna worry about that problem for now. I'll just stick to Kitely. The skins work fine, just the alt-LMB that is not working. Also, when I try to edit appearance (i.e. clothing, etc), it jumps past that choice so I cannot choose the "appearance" tab.

Ok...false alarms...sorry! Except for the avatar thing but that is only with Imprudence. The reason the alt-LMB and the other thing didn't work was apparently because I was using a two monitor set up, which is interesting. When I moved the open viewer back to my laptop screen, it worked fine! Maybe its the same reason for the avatar thing, I'll check later. It is interesting that everything else so far is fine on an external monitor.
