That's really interesting and thanks for sharing! I am looking forward to getting my own store set up soon (time permitting) but have a couple of questions around that too.

1 How do I change the name of my store as the name isn't quite right and
2 Can I set up more than one store?

Here's to your continued success!

Hello Moco,

1) After you loged into your web account. On top of the page: Go to /Manage Store / Change Name

2) I assume that we can only have 1 store per account, as the Marketplace uses your inworld avatar Inventory to manage your products.

Yes, you can only have one store per account, but you can have multiple accounts with one store per account

You can "only set up a single store per account"
but you can "Create multiple stores using multiple accounts - one store per account"

see discussion here http://www.kitely.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=699

You can start an alt account with it's own avatar name and email address.

Sounds complicated to me, but it might be worth considering if the product ranges are markedly different.

Hi Keith

Thanks for the update. The product ranges are markedly different and I could consider an alt as long as I make sure I keep to one creator as this can cause problems further down the line. I will have a look at the article.

I thought I would come back to this thread rather than open a new one. My experience of Kitely Marketplace continues to be a positive one and I very much cant complain about sales so far. Last month my Kitely earnings overshadowed my SL income for the first time (though this is mostly *but certainly not all* down to one very enthusiastic customer :) ). If its a "new content feeding frenzy" then it is showing no signs of abating just yet.

However, having used the MP for a number of months, there are a number of changes I feel really need to be made.

*Select number of items viewable per page - I am a scrolling person. I like to scroll. A drop down at the top of the page which allows the user to define how many items per page are viewable would be nice.

*"Select All" box in MP listing page - I once had to update a set due to a perm error. the set had 12 pieces in 4 texture variations, 2 perm variations - 106 pieces in all. I had to click each and every individual item in that set, delete them, then upload the updated set. My fingers were not happy by the end. I will certainly not update any products again until I can easily select all the items in a listing. All we need is an extra "Select All" tickbox in the currently empty and useless blue header box at the top of the item contents section.

*Profit sharing - We NEED this. Without going into detail, I have had several conversations in SL which would have gotten the green light IF we could share profits. In my opinion, this is holding back the marketplace by stifling the ability of creators to collaborate. In an environment which touts one of its strengths as collaborative building in a 3D environment, leaving the function to share in the fruits of that collaboration seems bizarre/wrong.

*Multiple shops per avatar - This has been banded about the forums already and the only entry in my list I dont consider "essential", but it would be very nice. For instance I have started working on some contemporary residential structures as I think we need them, but they wont fit into the "Worlds End" range at all. I know there is the "Alt option", but that is just one more account to remember the details of and a bunch of faffing around (re-uploading textures and components that you might want to re-use for example). As a merchant, I do enough faffing around with the platform to get my objects from design to shop front. The less faff between those two points, the better. If Kitely can make it easier for merchants to launch different "brands", surely that's good for everyone.

All in all, I am not complaining of course. The Kitely boys are doing a sterling job, but I feel the above are all sorely needed features.

Hi Ozwell,

How would you expect profit sharing to function?

Ok, obviously I would never expect Kitely to do any policing on the issue, it still comes down to an agreement between two creators.

One avatar still has to do the listing, so I would guess the easiest way is just to have a tick box, which when enabled allows the user to define a 2nd paypal account/avatar name and a percentage to split. Plus an email notification to the 2nd avatar whenever a sale is made would be in order I would think.
