Time Limit
Why is it that Kitely is the only grid in VR that has a time limit for how long u stay AFK and need a teleport station that keeps u waiting until your region unlocks? Every other grid in VR allows you to go to the region u want immediatly.

Re: Time Limit
Kitely fires up regions/servers only when people want to visit them (see How does Kitely's technology work?). This results in
(a) less energy wasted (more efficient use of resources),
(b) a lower cost for renting a region/world.
I would argue the short wait in the transfer station while the world fires up is worth it for those two reasons alone.
The reason why people are logged out if AFK for a long time (I think it's after an hour or so, but Ilan and others will put a more accurate figure on this) is again to preserve resources.
If you prefer, you can have an "always on" world. Look for "Dedicated Server" on https://www.kitely.com/services

Re: Time Limit
Exactly -- that is to help cover the extra cost of running the server full time.
It also has nearly double the resources of an Advanced World.
It also allows you to have a world FOUR TIMES AS BIG as the next biggest (64 regions vs 16 regions).

Re: Time Limit
Hi Scurvy,
Just curious, and none of my business really, lol, but maybe can suggest a solution...
What is your usage scenario that you need on while AFK?

Re: Time Limit
Gusher, Kitely worlds are cheap but with more server resources per world than what you'd get even when paying more for an always-on sim on a different grid. We can afford to do that because we don't have to keep servers active when they aren't actually in use (which is most of the time for most worlds).

Re: Time Limit
The problem with this perhaps are objects with timers, donation prayer candles or such. A guest makes a donation to light a candle for 1 day then what? Get it? Unless the server is in sleep mode, low energy consumption to keep those timers on..
