In that time I’ve tried to evolve the world (now called Elswood, with Coopersville on an island within it) to reflect similar areas in the UK, and to provide a home for the long-term residents of The Avenue. Some Kitely creators have been particularly helpful in this — thank you, especially T-Spot Designs and Chris CreationZ; also Four Winds in supplying buildings for The Avenue and the town centre.
Over the months, it has become clearer which individuals see The Avenue as a home, visiting regularly — daily in some cases! Thank you! Others, however, seem to have moved on to other projects — that’s fine, but it has made it difficult to optimise and evolve the region as I had originally hoped and planned.
I probably don’t need to remind anyone of what has been going on iRL during those same months. But RL does affect what is possible in VL, especially in terms of availability of resources, including money, leisure time and motivation.
Putting these factors together… here’s the plan for the next stage to ensure key elements of Coopersville are still available for visitors and committed Avenue residents:
- Continue maintaining the Town Centre shops, with the excellent merchandise on offer from well-known Kitely Market creators
- Consolidate plots on The Avenue, giving more space and increased prims to those residents who have demonstrated their commitment to and enjoyment of this lovely area over the past six months
- Adjust the coastline to the west and north to increase the amount of sailable sea within a 2x2 boundary
- Redevelop and/or return to original owners (those who have moved on to other projects) certain prim- and texture-heavy areas to reduce lag and server load
- Change the size of the world from 4x4 to 2x2, to make it more manageable and focused for me to look after given increasingly limited resources
