La quête de l'Illumination [The Quest for Illumination]

...feel free to come on over and visit. If it is set to copy, then feel free to do so.

I typically leave these regions up 3-4 months before I get to the next one.

La quête de l'Illumination [The Quest for Illumination]

Weighing in @ 3003 prims, 342 scripts & 83 mg. Please excuse any errors and you will need to reset some scripts such as MLPs and sounds.

With Mountains rising to 185m and full of content provided freely...please read the Attribution notecard in the giver in the Steampunk Gazebo @ the top.

Starting @ the landing point you walk to the top, encountering obstacles and collecting your prizes along the way.

Find answers to your deepest questions of life. Find your soul. Find illumination!!

I did the terrain and added some items I built and modified several items.

Permissions allowed for content by several content creators. Some items are specifically requested not to be resold.

However, nobody is going to be looking for issues...so we all only ask the people use this in the spirit given, that of it remaining free to keep and free to give out-))

There is some amazing content in this, created with care and freely done. Many odds and ends of scripts as well. Keep in mind it is those people who did the main work here, and give it all free. I only put it together in a nice OAR. Any credit should rightfully go to them and many items have in their contents or descriptions who those ppl are.

The attribution notecard prim is in the freebie Steampunk Gazebo created by Sunbeam Magic, please review that. If any person should complain about content it is best to be nice and simply contact the content creators themselves. This avoids issues getting out of control-))

I am primarily the organizer and in charge of overall placement and design.

Specific content issues should be directed to the builders themselves. As well, you may likely make a new friend-))

be well, enjoy, and most of all, have fun!!-)) --minethere always

Since I have built up a nice nest egg of KCs thanks to some nice people here-)) I decided to do a test and have made my free region, free for all to visit.

As this is one of the regions Kitely gives us all it normally charges you time to visit. In making it free it will now cost me my own KCs.

If it depletes my KCs to quickly I will then try making it free if one joins my group. Or, alternatively, do some kind of free window of time that it is free to visit.

Mostly doing this as an experiment and I will watch it closely to see how it goes.

My region displays my current free OAR and as such all the content on it should be set to copy by anyone.

They are also, imo, nice regions to visit.

So have fun!!!

Apparently this was what was needed to give some folx the ability to visit my region-))

I am watching it closely but so far nobody has taken advantage of this by spending to much time there.

So I will leave it free for a while longer and continue to watch how it goes-)))

I am slowly but surely moving over to Opensimcity.org to both complement my Payloadz Online Store but to also offer them all for 10 USD.

Opensimcity, is, to me, a trustable website [not saying Payloadz is not, of course...lol]

Region Terrains created with imagination and with the use by various customers in mind...I am continually creating new RAW files for you all to enjoy, use as you wish to, and fill up with your prims-))

Go on over here http://opensimcity.org/index.php?option ... ory&id=112 and see what is offered, if you wish to.

I will also turn them for you if needed and send you the modified file, for free. As well, I do offer additional terraforming of the terrains, by hand, if needed to make one more in line with your "vision". Tips are accepted-))

My primary blogsite for all my terrains and additional information is stored over this way...watch out for the cactus, tho. Feel free to comment also-)))))

I decided to create this rather quick free OAR due to a friend mentioning the base terrain I use in this would be good for a venue.

Not a lot in it as I thought that others may wish to add their own to it but it does include some nice items.

The base parts are Linda Kellie's Gorean Arena. Some items by SiFan Shan, Vbinnia Radek and others.

Please read the Attribution notecard in the giver @ the entry landing point for full information.

Not for resale.

Can be used for parties and for various other events.

Based upon the Real Minerva Reefs/Atolls, I bring you the first of a series of terrains based upon real life locations.

I did these for a customer who has given me permission to sell them to the public.

Purchase this and several others I have @

http://opensimcity.org/minethere

They are not exact reproductions but modified to be more useful in Virtual Worlds and with some artistic license added. However, if you review this website you will note they are created with very close attention to their real counterparts.

Views are from the South and do not include the windlight effects, the prims, or the special ground textures added.

I thought I would share my current project-))

Using 7 regions, I think this is coming along quite nicely considering only 2 days on it so far-))

Coochiemudlo is an Island off Australia. Tons more work to do of course, and the 2 regions top left are not part of this.

But the basic layout is down so next is more contouring details and smoothing of that, then on to elevations and such, adding the water as well as land elevation features....I am striving to consider that as with all islands, there are elevations leading up to the useable land masses.

I think I really like doing real life places, especially islands, and will definitely be doing more, either for customers or just ones I find to do and offer for sale-))

I am seeing this as the evolving nature of my work as well as with my involvement with opensim....besides, I find it extremely relaxing and artistic moving virtual land-))

None of them will use actual elevation data, to much work and I like artistic license. As well, the exigencies of virtual worlds prefer some leeway, I think.

Currently making the rounds in the Meta is an awesome Mesh Castle OAR.

I decided to get it and upload it to my Kitely Region.

Feel free to pop on over and check it out. My region is now rated adult.

http://www.kitely.com/virtual-world/Min ... ays/Mineys

And you can get the OAR for yourself here:

http://opensimcity.org/

And look on the left side for the downloads.

That potentially looks very interesting although I'm a little concerned about the licensing. The only ref I could find (short of downloading the UDK) is:

http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/754 ... UDK-assets

which looks quite hopeful. However, if you look at the UDK EULA section 3, it says:
You may not use the UDK to develop applications that compete with or could compete with the UDK or any other middleware or game development software produced by Epic;
(see http://www.unrealengine.com/udk/eula/ for the full EULA)

Assuming the UDK EULA applies here, this worries me a little. Of course, it depends on how you interpret "compete" and, not being a lawyer, your guess is as good as mine.

Ignoring the above, I tried the Android app on the Nexus 7 2012 and it ran very nicely. I also tried the HTML5 version but couldn't get it to load. The latter was generated using Emscripten which was considered for a while as an OpenSim platform iirc.

most, if not all, things require Lawyers anymore...lol...and even "they" are not perfect-))

In any case, I am only showcasing this. Others are passing it around all over the place. I have no clue with whom it originated and I presume all is well. This is a very cool build and I wanted Kitely people to enjoy seeing it...but it is by far not the only place it resides-))

The only profit motives I have are with my terrains and terraforming and the sounds I do in Kitely only.

Most any licensing I have read is related to commercial uses, for which this is not being used for. And most other licensing only wishes the content to remain free, some adding "as-is".

Overall, I never bother with issues that do not exist and if some verifiable creator of anything I have contacts me and can verify something is theirs and they do not want me to showcase it or give it away, then, upon such verification, I would accede to their wishes-))

All other comments about content not from a verifiable creator are, simply, only comments.

Nothing against what your saying Graham, of course-)) it is a, mostly, free world...
