I am not able to add directories as an item, when adding product or editing existing one. Till yesterday there was possible to add several directories concurrently and listing was devided into these directories. Today I am able to add 1 directory only, which add the items, not the directory. In case of 2 or more directories or directory and single item I get "Failed to communicate with the server."
Tried with Firefox 23 and Maxthon 4 on Windows.
Now I have 5 products in "Editing" state although I tried made two. (Which is not issue, I hope I can delete them.) Probably every unsuccessul fail made new product.
Is that regular behavior for listing?

Re: Cannot add directories in listing
When you add a single folder to a new product (that doesn't have any items), we add the contents of that folder but not the folder itself, because having a single folder at the top of the items list isn't useful to buyers. (We don't know that your intention is to add more folder later.) If the item already has any items then we do add the folder.
Therefore, you can simply add one dummy item (say, your Calling Card), and then even if you add just one folder we'll add the folder in addition to its items. After you've added that first folder you can delete the dummy item.
As to getting "Failed to communicate with the server": that means there was a timeout. That can happen if you add many items at once, or very complicated items. What happens is that the product *is* created on the server, but the client doesn't know it. So if you get this error you should refresh the browser to see the product. I think we might need to increase the timeout, or make it work differently, in case people add many items at once. But in the meantime, a simple workaround is to add the items in several groups instead of all at once.

Re: Cannot add directories in listing
Oren, thank you for detailed explaining.
I have tried it today again and there is the result. It is probably related to particular items, I cannot reproduce it with other similar products.
It is probably caused because there is a big amount of prims in linkset, and all directories contain several of those objects. Which is uncommon for most of products.
I am able to add all directories one by one and all errors are false alarms, regardless error the directory is added.
Thanks for help:)
