Avatar Issues

Post by Serenity Sinclaire »

Not sure how the support thing is going, or if it's just that nobody is interested in assisting me, personally for some reason. I've asked a few things and can't manage to get any helpful, legit response. I'd hate to just have to close up shop entirely since these are basic issues that should not be happening...but if I can't manage to get basic scripts to work, no point in having an account...

Once again, this has been a problem since I got back "in world" several months ago...it hampers my entire ability to do anything but stand there.

ANIMATIONS

Pulled out a Linda Kellie chair and attempted to sit...but while it would zip me to the chair, it stuck me in the seat, standing. I disabled the AO (also LK's version) and still no luck.

>>I dismounted and pulled the AO to the ground, selected in Edit, and reset the scripts. Didn't work.
>>I left AO off, still didn't work.
>>Put AO back on and attempted to use its function to sit. Still didn't work.
>>Right click/sit put me standing through the seat of the chair.
>>Left click/sit did the same thing.

The final option was to ditch the chair and select Sit (on the ground) which worked fine but not what I was after.

How can I fix the poseballs for chairs/seating (and probably everything else) so that they work correctly?

------------

Sits are not working, viewer doesn't matter. If I click a poseball for a sit (or anything) it puts the avi sideways in the air.
If I use the AO to sit, it puts me sitting in the air above the thing.

Most every script I've gotten does not work properly.

Teleport scripts, boat scripts, door and window scripts - installed, set correctly, and either nothing happens or some warped crap happens. Teleports send the avi sideways or some other direction. Or don't work at all. Boat scripts sit correctly but the boat doesn't actually move. Or the sits don't work (sideways, in the air, etc). Doors either don't open and close or they fly off somewhere.

Most all these were the LK scripts and resetting them doesn't do anything.

Is it possible to get a solution here from someone who understands the problem or am I paying 35 bucks a month to go in world and stand there?

Hi Serenity,

Sitting works in Kitely (people do so in all the Kitely Mentor Group meetings) so the problem is likely to do with something specific to your avatar.

First, please go the the Kitely Welcome Center and try sitting on the various sits that show a sit icon when you hover over them. Does that work for you?

Are you wearing an AO when trying to sit? If so please try sitting without wearing any AOs to eliminate the AO you're using as being the source of the problem.

Hi Ilan, hope all's well.

I know sits work everywhere else, but they are not working *for me* for who knows why, which is why I need some assistance.

I've been to Kitely Welcome Center, was there yesterday (very awesome, too)...and they did not work *for me*. I have the LK AO and this happens whether it's on or off, attached or detached. I tried again - put a box down, put in one of the sit scripts taken from this forum in the scripts section, put it in the box, made sure it was all ready...and bam, sits the avi above the box in the air.

So I'm at a loss.

even tho resolved and wonderful, it is a good opportunity to once again point out using the viewer AO is very, very useful.

Most browsers support this in similar ways.

I think the sit issue is inherent to OpenSim. It differs from SL and I had to configure my own sits using the Magic Kit.

Serenity,
I'm working with scripted seating and posing for a while now in Kitely. If you like we can meet and try to figure out what is different for your avi.
You're right, that many of the LK objects with scripted sits do not work properly. Thus I've written my own scripts for posing and continue to do so. However if the sit position is configured right standard sitting on an object should work also for you. If you like .... let's meet and try to figure it out together. Just give me an IM.
