Not Showing in Google? !

I'm really befuddled! In the Second Life Marketplace, my products show up on search engines readily. If I just Google "Sierra Jakob" in images, for example, I can see loads of my products--in Second Life Marketplace. However, only two items show that are in the Kitely market--and those products have never even sold. The market has been open for months now, and still my Kitely products are not showing up in Google searches. For me, showing up in the search engines is majorly important. What's going on with this? Is something preventing Google from finding my Kitely products?

Hey Sierra, what I would do if I was Kitely is format the image names like merchant-item-name.jpg, maybe with a trailing number for dbase actions. For example "kitely-amiryu-hosoi-samurai-hair-chonmage-1000002680842.jpg" or something. Also every product image should have an alt tag that could be like this "kitely amiryu hosoi samurai hair chonmage 1000002680842.jpg". The Kitely html coder should make sure to use dashes instead of underscore for better search engine results.

Hi Sierra,

A few weeks ago we added a lot of Google specific metadata and a sitemap for all the marketplace entries so search results should now have all they need. However, low inbound links to your products may be reducing the search rankings for your marketplace listings or preventing them from being indexed frequently. One way you can help increase those rankings is to use the social media share buttons in your product listings and to add links from third-party sites to your store page and/or products.

As more people add links to Kitely Market pages Google, and other search engines, will index those pages more frequently and give more prominence to search results from Kitely Market.

Are the items currently showing older/newer than the ones that are not showing? Are there links to them from other places?

I'm not sure I don't have a website or sharesite with enough traffic to significantly effect Google search. I don't have to do that for the SL Marketplace, though.

Google is indexing all your products but the search results aren't showing high because the Kitely Market still has a lower page rank than other pages that contain your name. The more links the marketplace gets (from blogs, FB, twitter, Pintrest, etc.) the more prominent search results from Kitely Market will become.

Just to update, if it is of any interest.... Today when I Google Images for "Sierra Jakob Designs" Kitely, I get only one of my product images: the dog house.
