oh, and btw, I also backup my oars [and other stuffs] to google drive, which is free, and you do not need to install their computer aspect of it unless you want to...lots of space too.

dropbox is also free for much less space...soooo, no reason to lose anything unless a massive world-wide EMP from Aliens is launched!!!

I did not know you could back up OARs to Google Drive. Never occurred to me. Genius! Thank you!

Great thread from several perspectives.

Nikita, you have a terrific store in the SL Marketplace. It will be great to have your content on the Kitely Market!

Thank you Jean, very nice of you to say so, SL MP is a joke, its so bloated with everybody and their brother ( or sister) trying to make a dollar, and full of copybotted stuff.
It has really killed inworld shopping, not many shop inworld anymore,i'm lucky if i get 3 visitors a day at my inworld store.
My partner and i are very disillusioned with SL

Its a big job getting all my stuff ready for here but its getting there slowly.
In general i just have a couple of questions.
To transfer an OAR file into a region does one have to pay the $40 sim price,as apposed to the minute option.
And if one did have the $40 sim, i saw it says anyone can have access.
What if i want the $40 sim and wanted to keep it private.
And are there inworld stores or is MP the only place to buy

Hi nikita,

You can upload an OAR file when you create a new world or when replacing an existing one. This can be done with all types of Kitely worlds, including with the free one that is included with the Free Plan.

You can limit access to your world regardless of how you pay for it. You can keep an Unlimited Free Access world private if you want.

Some merchants are setting up inworld stores but those can only be easily used for buying items using Kitely Credits (which are an unconvertible virtual currency, though they can be used to pay Kitely for its services). If you want to make real money then you should list your items in Kitely Market for USD.

Nikita,

I have a single free region I use here and upload OARs to it regularly [every few months or so]. I have set it for free access to anyone but that means it costs me 1 kc per minute when myself and others visit it.

Since my few MP sales finance this, I do not mind as long as it is not taken advantage of.

I use it to showcase oars I have created or, currently, I have a friend's oar in it she gave me, Avia Bonne, her Tomb Raider oar, which is pretty awesome.

It is also full of wonderful content she wishes to be given away and only wants it to remain free...feel free to go by-)) If you see something that is not set properly as FP and copy by anyone, that you want, just IM me and I will come in sometime and set it properly.

Thanks everyone, you really are so very helpful, hopefully i can get the OAR thing done soon, still doing my skins on SOAS .
Its a tedious job putting all the contents in each one but i am almost done.

Well, i got my stuff on the SOAS stick transferred using OAR, worked very well,.
Decided to transfer because my SOAS stick was getting very slow to remove clothes i was checking for displays, it would take up to 5 min for a top to come off, so i thought i would do the OAR.

I tried to to put an item on MP to see how it works.
I went to transfer some items from my inventory and i got this message.
You must have copy and transfer on the items, the following items lack permission ( which was all i was trying to upload)
I went into my sim and checked my items to change the permissions, i couldn't, somehow during the OAR transfer everything got changed to unknown creator, that would be all the skins, all the avatars and clothes.
I went back to my SOAS to check the permissions there and it says unknown creator and unknown user. ( they all had me as creator before the OAR transfer)
I uploaded a pair of jeans and a top to test and they both had me as the creator, so somehow the OAR transfer stripped me as creator of my stuff.
Has anyone experienced this before?, as it stands right now i can't list anything on MP

Also when listing on MP, all my stuff i package so someone would have to have a place rez the package to unpack, is it better to have them in a folder so they don't have to unpack.and if i upload all the items in a display ( about 15 for the avatars ) does MP automatically put them in a folder..

I just went and had another look, the actual display list me as creator and owner, if i click and drag the bag with the contents inside the display,ie skin, shape, eyes, brow, top jeans/skirt, shoes, etc) to the ground and copy the contents to inventory, its those items that say unknown creator.
So the display OAR s (transfers) ok but contents inside lose the creator

It's a shame second inventory didn't work properly, it would have prevented this ,i had over 300 individual skins with the packages inside that do not list me as creator and 40 avatars, its good thing i decided to stop doing the clothes, as it is i have many hours into what i did and all for nothing, it will all have to be redone, trouble is right now i can't, second inventory does'nt list the items icons properly, i downloaded the firestorm that has the import/export and the top i tried was just a white top with no texture and nothing like i exported, also it was an OXP file not an XML file
Looks like i will have to wait for the update and hopefully second inventory will work ok ,

Hi nikita,

It's better to not pack items in boxes. Kitely Market direct delivers to people's inventories and does so into a folder with your product name inside a folder called "# Kitely Marklet".

What did you see in the permissions when you imported the OAR file, and opened the items inworld before taking them into your inventory? What creator information did it give you? (please press the link to verify that it is that of your Kitely avatar).

The permissions that need to be set for Kitely Market delivery are the Next Owner permissions.
