Landmarks Exchange Board

Who has spent many hours building a beautiful region probably wishes that his/her world is visited from many members
Such board could motivate members to explore around. I can't say how helpful it will be. Let's find it out

I have set a LMs Exchange Board all you need to do to use it's:

a) purchase one of the available boards for 0 (you are buying the original, no need to rez it from Inventory)
b) Edit your board and insert in Content 1 LM and some textures showing your region. The pictures will loop automatically every 15 seconds
c) If you want to showcase more of your worlds, purchase as many boards as you need.
d) The one touching your board will receive your landmark
e) You as the owner of the board will get in chat the information about the number of LM given since you bought the board
f) You can purchase for 0 this LM Exchange Board to rez in your land. It is besides my board. It is full perms. Care to be in Edit (CTRL +3) when
you drop the board on the ground. Either use it as is or pull out the scripts to your Inventory to build your own
g) Make sure that you have the parcel where the boards are located set to not autoreturn any objects not owned by you. Otherwise the purchased boards
will autoreturn

Anyone can use this exchange board, also to advertise for products or to attract visitors to your Club etc.

This is an excellent idea, thanks so much Isis for taking this positive step!

I bought one of the boards. I dropped a couple of textures into it and they are cycling through, both being displayed.
Oddly, only one of the two textures shows up in the board's inventory. I tried dropping an LM in the board but it won't take,
or at least it doesn't show up in the board inventory. And when I touch the board is just says "This object is not for sale."

I plan to set up a similar set of boards near the arrival point for Donnybrook Beach. Hopefully they will be ready to go later
this weekend.

I looked in the Content of your box and see many many Landmarks inside and also many textures. Deuce please reset the scripts, it might fix the issue. Or If you prefer to start over, just delete the box and buy a new one. Reset the scripts after you have dropped your files in Content. If it still not working, please let me know.

The LM giver it's a simple LM giver script and the texture looper I picked from the Forum script library, I think was tested from Minethere (thanks Mine for the contribution). Could be both dont work good together.

I had reset the scripts in the board... several times. I had even waited for the world to shut down and entered again just in case that would have helped, but nothing did. All I could see was one copy of one of the textures, and no landmarks at all. One odd thing I did notice was that when I was in the contents tab editing the board, it looked like the edit box was flashing - almost like it was being updated or reset several times a second.

Now when I went back hours later - after reading your reply - I saw the same thing you saw. Several copies of the two textures, and several landmarks. I was able to delete the extra landmarks and the extra textures. The contents now look like what I had intended - with one landmark and single copy of the two textures. I reset the scripts again. The textures are still cycling, but when I click on the board it says "The object is not for sale." I even tried logging in with an alt and touching the board just in case it was some weird ownership issue when it wont give a landmark to the owner. But my alt got the same results: "The object is not for sale" - and no landmark was given to the alt.

I'm wondering if the LM giver script isn't working right because the object had been set for purchase. It seems like the left over purchase setting could be overriding the touch activation of the LM giver script.

Updated to add: I did what you suggested and deleted that first board and purchased a 2nd one. I carefully added only 1 LM and one copy of each of the two textures. Same thing. The textures are cycling as expected, but when I touch the board it says "This object is not for sale."

Finally I figured it out! It was not marked for sale, but somehow the "Click to" option still said "Buy Object", which apparently kept the LM script from working. I changed that to "Touch (default)" and the script appears to work fine. When I touch the board it tells me that zero landmarks have been given. I will test it again with my alt, but I expect it to work now.

You will need to replace the original board I deleted. Thanks for all the help!

Confirmed! My alt was able to get a copy of the LM from the board. And it now tells me that 1 landmark was given since the board was rezzed.
It all works fine. Anyone who buys a board must check and be sure that the "Click to:" option says "Touch(default)" for the LM giver script to work properly.

I will look around and figure out where I can put up something similar in Donnybrook Beach.

Thanks so much Deuce for finding out what the problem was. It was my fault. In Firestorm besides the sale amount its 'Apply' I had ticked it without noticing that FS then changes the Touch (default) to Buy. I have fixed all boards now. Thanks again

I have made a copy of the board, scripts set to full perms and the prims to copy/modify. Everyone can grab a copy to rez on his region, modify it to his likeing or use only the scripts and build his own board. It is besides the landmarks exchange board.

FYI, with the individual LM boards set to Mod/Copy, anyone who uses this will not be able to give/sell the boards to their visitors like you are doing. I had to create my own board prim and copy the scripts over to the new prim in order to get it to work. The good news is that other world owners can make the boards look any way they want, and make them any size.

I will post here when I have the boards set up in my world. That should happen in the next day or two. Thanks again, Isis!

Thank you Deuce for your feedbacks. I hope that I got finally the board to be usable now. The no transfer was because of the silver texture, I have replaced it and now the boxed board it's full perms for everyone to grab. Or to pull the scripts in to their Inventory and build the board themselves to fit in their region style.
