Very cool world, Keith. Only one major problem - where is the invite thingy for the Quayside Drivers group? I very carefully examined the arrival area and couldn't find anything.
I couldn't get into the air field because of the banlines.
Also I encountered a very weird problem after I touched the banlines at the airfield. From that point on my avatar kept trying to return to that exact spot where I had touched them. Whenever I wasn't actively directing the avatar to go elsewhere he flew or walked in the direction of that spot. I'd never seen this kind of behaviour in my avatar before, either in SL or OpenSim.
Anyway, a very nice world. I'll come back and try flying an aircraft once I find out how to join the group.

I just tried sending Deuce a group invitation.
When testing with an alt in Singularity, it was able to do
Edit
Groups
Search
Find: Quayside
Search
Quayside Drivers shows up
Join
and then click on Join again to confirm and see the member list.
I would like to say how that works in Firestorm, but the current version is having problems on my PC.
I'm checking the access issue at the Quayside Drivers Sandbox

I removed the access restriction on the sandbox, but kept the object creation restricted to group members

Thanks, Keith. I was able to join using your instructions. The only change is that on Firestorm it is:
Comm
Groups....
the rest is the same.
I'm not sure why, but the way you phrased it in your instructions I figured that there would be some kind of group invite thingy... or at least sign saying "Click here to Join Group" at the
teleport arrival point in Quayside. When there wasn't I got confused.
Anyway, I'm exhausted and need some sleep. When I get up in a few hours I'll come by Quayside again and give flying a whirl. The initial trip was not a total loss, btw. I was able to pick up come nice office furniture and a fishing boat. I took the script and sounds out of the fishing boat and just use it as a static display item in my world.
Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the feedback Deuce, and glad you found something you liked.
Sorry I baffled you.
For now, I've put a notecard giver at the sandbox which might cover this.
I was not sure how much detail to give, in between keeping it too minimal, or giving "too much information".

I highly reccomend this Open Day, was well worth the visit.
If there's still time I urge anyone on Kitely with an interest in vehicles to visit. Some brilliant work here.
Thanks Keith for the hospitality.

Yes, great vehicles and pretty landscape to fly over and, erm, into. Thanks, Keith

Finally Kitely went from static to action - great move Keith!
Flying works quite well and I even managed to earth the plane once without a crash ..whooo!
Helicopter is a bit tricky but after 100 hours of training I'm sure I will mange even that.
We need more of this kind!
