I've been giving this a lot of thought. The opening is on Saturday but due to the nature of the region, having an event (like a dance or a DJ) doesn't really do what I need. I think I should just have it be similar to an open house but region wide so people can check out all of the different areas. There are a lot of vehicles and toys to try and shops to explore (etc...) so the only thing I can see working is to just open the region up to the public and let people choose what they want to look at or do. I will provide a notecard with teleports and I have a website now that also has pictures and links to the different areas.

Also if I do it this way then people can come when it's convenient for them. In the future we'll have events like dances/balls, movies, beach parties etc... but for the day of opening a single event seems limiting.

I'm still open to suggestions though. What do you think?
