We'll investigate whether this is something that we can do something about. If Vivox currently works elsewhere then we want it working in Kitely as well.

Shandon, what's interesting is that a while back opensim all lost voice but it was working on Kitely.

It's probably because we use a different Vivox server than the one used by most/all(?) other OpenSim grids.

Because Kitely rocks!

The voice server Vivox assigned us is offline. We sent Vivox support an email requesting they reactivate it. We now await their response.

LOL, exactly what I was thinking in my head! So BATMAN! is still on for tonight, same Bat time, same Bat channel as previously advertised? I've decided to come dressed as the scariest villain of all: myself! :o

P.S. I'm a [why so] serious fan of the 1966 "Batman" TV series (POW! SWOOSH! ET CETERA!), and my actual favorite villain has always been the Riddler (as played by Frank Gorshin); I just love his giggle and super-hammy acting!

Oo, wait! I know ...

I'll dress as a 1966 go-go dancer! Anybody know where I can find a last-minute "Batusi" dance?

Although I've seen the series of films by Christopher Nolan, I think it is (?), and Heath Ledger (RIP  ) really did deserve that Oscar. IMHO, he's irreplaceable. (Although you'll just be telling the story, not actually playing the role.)

Also, I never watched the more so-serious 1990s cartoon version, but my favorite actor (whom I met twice & got nice replies to my two fan letters from), David Warner (RIP too; in fact, it would've been his 83rd birthday the other day, July 29, & I'm still in mourning two years after he died, 5 days before his birthday in 2022  ) apparently was very popular as the voice of R'as al Ghul. Here's a montage of his better-known sci-fi roles (either in heavy makeup or as the voice of a cartoon character, my favorite being The Lobe from the hilarious superhero parody "Freakazoid!" ... because he did have an awesome voice, having recorded several audiobooks; I even have an audio cassette of him and several other actors reading selected poems of Edgar Allan Poe, but his are the best, of course ;) ):

Will do in stream if no Vivox

reply to fan letters is super cool!
Love that face-to-face laugh off!

Yes Heath Ledger is incomparably amazing, personally I’d like to see Michael Keaton as Batman and Heath Ledger as joker in the same movie. Though since that has not happened yet, I don’t guess that’s very likely to happen at this point is it? RIP HL

Aaron Eckhart was great as Harvey too

Update:

Vivox stopped accepting new grids in 2021 and announced they'll be removing Vivox support for all OpenSim grids at an unknown date. 3 years have passed since then. They apparently shut down our Vivox server but haven't done that yet for the server that is used by other grids. My guess is that it's just a matter of time until they do.

I have a call scheduled for next week with a Vivox rep. Hopefully they'll agree to restart our Vivox server or grant us access to the Vivox server that is used by other OpenSim grids until they shut down access for all OpenSim grids.

Thanks for the update. But what is the plan if and when they shut it down all together
